My Favorite Baby Carrier

Carrying your baby, no matter their age, is a natural behavior. We are ‘carry mammals’ as humans and our babies LOVE to be close to us. There are also so many benefits to carrying your baby and the convenience is unmatched. Finding the perfect carrier can be difficult as there are so many on the market! Let me tell you about my favorite baby carrier….the Artipoppe Zeitgeist

YES it’s expensive. And some of them are $$$$$ expensive, I’m talking WOAH expensive. But let’s talk about why I love this carrier, the (very few) cons that do exist, facts about using it and sizing it for your baby, and some alternatives to buying new.

If you and your baby LOVE to use carriers it can be worth it to invest in something comfortable and easy to use. I probably spent 2,000 hours wearing my baby….why not get myself something I love?

Benefits of Carrying Baby

One of the most significant benefits of using a baby carrier is the convenience it provides. When you wear your baby, you have your hands free to do other things: such as cooking, cleaning, or running errands. This can be especially useful for new parents who are trying to adjust to the demands of caring for a baby. Or for parents who have other littles running around!

Another benefit of using a baby carrier is that it can help strengthen the bond between the caregiver and the baby. When you wear your baby, they are close to you, and you can feel their movements and hear their breathing. This can be reassuring for both the baby and the caregiver and can help promote a sense of security and attachment.

Wearing a baby in a carrier can also be soothing for both the baby and the caregiver. The warmth and movement of the caregiver's body can help calm a fussy baby and make them feel more secure. This can be especially helpful for babies who have colic or reflux.

Using a baby carrier can also be helpful for breastfeeding mothers. When a baby is in a carrier, they are in a natural position for breastfeeding, which can make it easier for the mother to nurse discreetly in public. This was one of my favorite ways to use the Artipoppe carrier

Reasons Why I Love The Artipoppe Baby Carrier

It’s simple to use. Even when I first started using the Artipoppe it only took me one minute or less to get baby positioned properly and comfortably.

You can adjust this carrier to safely and ergonomically carry your baby in the best way possible. The fabric widens where their knee bends in order to give the best support based on their weight and size.

This carrier can be used safely when baby is 7 pounds to 45 pounds making it a long-term investment.

The carrier adjusts easily for each caregiver. My husband and I wore our first baby all the time! We could easily adjust the straps to fit us both comfortably.

The Very Few Cons of The Artipoppe Carrier

Every baby product will have its fair share of cons, and the Artipoppe Zeitgeist baby carrier is no different.

The first, most obvious con, is the price of the carrier. Ranging from $350-$3,750 it is definitely not affordable for the average family. However, given the durability and long-lasting nature of this baby carrier, I truly believe some of the lower-priced options are 100% worth it.

You know that concept of buying the same cheap thing over and over OR investing in something once and never buying it again? That’s what I think about in this case. When you purchase one of these, it’s going to last. Use the carrier for your own babies and then pass it on to other friends, family, or maybe even your own kiddos one day!
Another con is the front-facing carry out (where baby faces away from you) feature of this carrier. It honestly wasn’t my favorite. My baby was a little uncomfortable and I found it hard to adjust everything.

With that being said, most infants shouldn’t front face carry out in the carrier until around 8 months and even then it’s not widely recommended. So I personally didn’t find this much of an issue in my own journey.

Using & Sizing The Artipoppe Carrier

Like I stated previously, the Artipoppe Zeitgeist Baby Carrier can be used when baby is at least 7 pounds and up to 45 pounds! The carrier has multiple ergonomic positions (front carry facing in, front carry facing out and back carry).

Any time you use a baby carrier, or babywear, there are a few foundational things to keep in mind.

  1. Make sure the carrier is tight enough to hug your baby close and no loose fabric is present. If the fabric is loose baby will slump down which can hinder their breathing

  2. You should always be able to see your baby’s face and have it in view at all times

  3. Your baby’s head should be close to your chin. If you were to tilt your head forward you would be able to kiss their head

  4. There should always be a space of 1-2 fingers below your baby’s chin while in the carrier. We don’t want them to be in a curled position which can restrict their breathing

The Artipoppe Baby Carrier has adjustable fabric to support behind baby’s knees at different sizes and weights. The carrier also has an adjustable head support piece which can be positioned multiple different ways.

Purchasing the Artipoppe Carrier

If you want to purchase a brand new carrier you can visit the Artipoppe website here

There are also numerous facebook groups where people are selling their gently used Artipoppe Carriers for a slightly lower price. I have also seen carriers in thrift stores from time to time as well.

The longevity & resell value of these carriers is amazing and I know whichever way you purchase one you will be happy.

Using a baby carrier is a simple yet effective practice that can have many benefits for both the baby and the caregiver. Whether you are looking for convenience, bonding, development, soothing, breastfeeding support, or mobility–the Artipoppe Carrier truly has it all.

You don’t NEED any baby product besides yourself, but when it comes to baby carriers Artipoppe does it best.
